La Tribu

La Tribu was founded at the end of the 60s in Monterry, Mexico. In 1969 they released their debut LP: a compendium of cover versions of hits sung in Spanish.
In 1971 they recorded music with their own compositions and released an EP with three songs on Polydor. In 1972 they recorded new songs which were released also on 7inch. The death of lead singer Leopoldo ‘Polo’ Sánchez Labastida in 1974 made it very difficult for the
band to record new music, so the band practically disappeared from the scene.
